At least somebody big is doing something to aid with this issue. Sasol is doing great things with their National Water Week initiative. So far they have managed to:

• Save 3.8 million cubic meters of water. 
• They've engaged with 114 000 households through water monitoring and leak-fixing programs. 
• They fixed the plumbing of 63 000 households and 76 schools. 
• As well as they brought awareness to 90 000 households regarding water conservation.
